CORCOM just received a new grant from the EU Commission to join the XR5.0 Horizon project. The project aims to create a person-centric and AI-based Extended Reality (XR) paradigm tailored for Industry 5.0 applications. It focuses on the integration of “XR-made-in-Europe” technology with human-centric manufacturing principles in line with European values. The project leverages human-centered digital twins and advanced AI paradigms to offer ergonomic and personalized training via a cloud-based XR platform. XR5.0 is developing six high-TRL pilot applications in areas such as AI-based product design and workers’ training, all of which will be integrated into the EU XR platform and demonstrated in real-world manufacturing environments. The initiative is also fostering a community of stakeholders to ensure the sustainability and broader adoption of its innovative solutions, positioning the technologies for immediate commercialization. CORCOM will oversee all the legal and ethical aspects of the project.
